Buck’s passion for cooking came when he was just five years old, when he used to stand alongside his Uncle Steve learning how to make beer batter in the kitchen of what is still known today as Henry’s Fine Edibles, owned at the time by his Uncle Steve and Aunt Deb. As it runs in the family, and with parents and grandparents who were seasoned in the art of true southern comfort food, one could say that culinary talent is just in his blood.
By the time he was he was 12, he was making full course meals for his mom, who patiently acted as his taste tester and lovingly offered her family secrets and tricks of the trade. When with his father, Buck learned the art of “waste not, want not” as his dad had a knack for creating several unique meals from limited ingredients.
All of these heirloom ideas passed down through the years, along with his self-taught innovative techniques and passion for authenticity has molded Buck into the creative culinary maverick he is today.
Buck’s main motivation is putting a smile on the face of those who try his food. As a man of few words, he speaks through his talents, as he brings joy to his art and shows love to his fellow human by comforting them with dishes that would please even the pickiest of palettes.
At the end of the day, Buck’s desire is to serve others with compassion, offering a tasty comforting meal with heart and soul.
